Well, I'm not going to ramble for too much here. I have three assignments that have to get done and I'm wrapped in my economics reading, which by the way, is difficult and boring. BUT, it's necessary and I want an 80 in this course to boost my GPA and keep it at a 3.7 or so. Grades are very important to me. They haven't always been my best friend, but being an older student now, I appreciate the hard work and dilligence that is required to keep your grades high and above the average line. We all want a great job and what doesn't stop an employer from looking at your grades or requesting to see a transcript of your marks? NOTHING! That's right!! Grades are important too, just as important as who you know and what you know.
I don't think I'll get a workout in today but I did an interval workout yesterday and I recorded my times and distances elapsed. I did weights for 2 sets of 8 and intervals for 20 min plus a 10 min warmup and a 30 min jaunt on some machine that looked like a Precor. Here are the stats:
10 min warmup run for 1 mile
All weights done for 2 x 8 reps
Incline bench press: 25s, 30s
Seated rows: 120lbs, 140lbs
Dumbbell split squats: 30s, 30s
Reverse lunges: 30s, 30s
Dumbbell standing presses: 25x 6 + 20s x 2, 25s x 5 + 20s x 3
Bicep curls: 35lb bar, 35lbs bar
Tricep rope pressdowns: 30lbs, 25lbs
Cardio intervals:
0-1 min: walk
1-2: run at 8mph at 2% incline: covered unknown miles
2-4: walk
4-5: run @ 8mph @ 2% incline: covered 0.13 miles
5-7: walk
7-8: run @ 9mph @ 2% incline: covered 0.15 miles
8-10: walk
10-11: run @ 9mph @ 2% incline: covered 0.15 miles
11-13: walk
13-14: run @ 11mph, no incline: covered 0.18 miles
14-16: walk
16-17: run @ 11mph, no incline: covered 0.18 miles
17-19: walk
19-20 min @ 11mph, no incline, covered unknown miles
I was very wiped at the end of this!! Getting to 0.18 miles is a great milestone for me, and my goal is to run on the treadmill to 0.20 miles for 1 min and eventually *upwards* of 0.25 miles in 1 min, but that's a HUGE step. I think I need to wait until I race outside again on a track to get my times quicker. Running on a treadmill is great, as you can pace yourself much more easily than on a track, PLUS, you have the advantage of no wind.
Post intervals, I did 30 min on a machine similar to a Precor. So 60 minutes of cardio total for this workout.
Thanks for dropping in and have a great week!!!
