One more post before the night slips away

This is courtesy of Sherelle, a sister of a great friend of mine. It brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my lips...In practicing good business ettiquette as well (a skill I am learning still every day in my program), it helps to acknowledge stressors in your life, the horrid 3 Stressors's: environmental factors, job factors, and personal factors.  Try to practice politeness, assertiveness, empathy, patience, and my personal favourite, learning to solve problems...but start with your own life first.

Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinnerlike a beggar
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat lessfood that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in 2008
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.1
10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:
11. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea whattheir journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control.Instead invest your energy in the positive    present moment.
13. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously.  No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade awaylike algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. 23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:

27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy!

I am learning the more I age, I happier I become.  We were not meant to be perfect, just adequately ourselves.  Smile, solve tensions, and be yourself :)

My father used to say to me at the first day of every month, "rabbits, rabbits, rabbits."  It's an age-old good luck charm that if spoken, will grant you good tidings for the remaining days ahead.  I forgot to say it this morning.  Crap.  Oh well.  I'll have to wait until New Year's Eve and wish upon a star to have my luck.  'Til then.

This month has flown by quickly, and I am thankful for the end of this semester.  School is great: it's comforting, familiar, and warm...but I am craving and deserving a well-earned break!  I'll be thankful to make it to tomorrow, hand in my due assignment and do a workout that I *really, really* want to do.  Two days off in a row doesn't cut it for me.  I like structure and I thrive in that.

I made it to my writing class and I earned a few percentages more.  I'm excited!  I will have to still work my tail off to make an 4.0 GPA, but I am determined, and the more determined I get, the harder I work and more I discipline myself.  But I am careful to be wary of bad habits and negative thinking that used to plague me in the past and try to relax, persevere, and just *be.*

I'm starting to think depression and negative thinking are energy wasters, many can agree, but also they can be combatted with determination (the D word I so often say) and resillience.   I used to be so shy, unhappy, and insecure that it was a constant battle just to let everything be as it was.  Now, I think I am finally getting to that place in life where I enjoy little things more and sweat less of the trivialities.

The year is coming to a close and the last issue of the Interrobang is this week.  That mean I have two more pieces to write (but another was finished Monday) and three friends to interview for extra perks.  I'm so excited to help a buddy out and if it mean I get an extra $25, I'm there.  We all need laundry money :)

I went shopping today and bought some fresh makeup, bubble bath, Pantene hair products, and some pretty eyeliner.  I love to go out when my paycheques flow and treat myself to something fun and exquisite.  It pays to pamper!!

I still have a few clothing items at Joe Fresh that I would love to pick up for fun.  I have to finish this homework first and once done, go out and splurge.  Shhh!
